My husband loves to cook and, in particular, he really loves to cook Japanese food. This does, of course, require speciality ingredients that can only be acquired at specialty supermarkets. While he’s busy stocking up on udon, dashi, miso, and other items, I always find the snack aisle. The rows upon rows of sweets, snacks, and confections can be overwhelming at first. How to decide what to get? Am I in the mood for Almond Crush Pocky or Cookies & Cream? Should I get the little chocolate-covered Chocorooms or Matcha Kit Kats? And of course, no trip to any reliable market would be complete without several packages of mochi. These pillowy little rice cakes are my favorite treat to get. There’s something immensely satisfying about biting into a daifukumochi, tearing through the chewy white rice exterior and unlocking the soft, sweet filling within. My husband prefers the fruity flavors like peach, strawberry, and mango. As for me? I gravitate towards the rich and nutty black sesame and traditional red bean. I guess I’ll just have to get one of everything.

Please note that, due to the nature of hand-dyed yarn, no two skeins of yarn will be exactly alike. I recommend alternating skeins every few rows for projects using multiple skeins of the same colorway. If you order multiple skeins of the same colorway, I will do my best to select skeins that are the closest match.
I dye each skein with professional acid dyes and leave the yarn in the dye bath until the dye has exhausted before rinsing and soaking in wool wash. Minor color bleeding may occur on the first wash, especially with extremely dark colors.
Although I do my best to accurately represent each colorway in product photos, please note that the colors may vary depending on monitor and/or device settings.
