London. Gray as always. Gray faces gawped as her coach clattered to a halt before an unremarkable storefront on the wrong side of Soho. Inside, a comic formation of shopmen contorted themselves into varied imitations of a bow. One was older than the rest, and to him she spoke.

“Mr. Wedgwood, I presume?”

“Yes, your majesty,” he breathed, creaking upright. “It is my great honor to welcome you to my humble showroom.” A country voice from a stout potter’s body. But she’d heard the man’s bearing belied his skill.

“I should like to view…” What? Everything. The line of clerks had parted to reveal the wares. Here were not the gaudy glazes and busy-painted porcelain of the palace services. Each object held the color and weight of the earth. Of Mecklenburg. The dawn after her first ball, when the sun kissed peonies into the clouds and cast candied apricot across the mirrored lilac surface of the lake.

When the ancient beeches stood sentinel as she lay in the moss to watch pale blue light drive the cobalt from the sky.

The potter shuffled. “Perhaps a vase, your majesty?”

“No,” she said finally. “I’ll take all of it.”

Please note that, due to the nature of hand-dyed yarn, no two skeins of yarn will be exactly alike. I recommend alternating skeins every few rows for projects using multiple skeins of the same colorway. If you order multiple skeins of the same colorway, I will do my best to select skeins that are the closest match.

I dye each skein with professional acid dyes and leave the yarn in the dye bath until the dye has exhausted before rinsing and soaking in wool wash. Minor color bleeding may occur on the first wash, especially with extremely dark colors.

Although I do my best to accurately represent each colorway in product photos, please note that the colors may vary depending on monitor and/or device settings.
