Earthenware

Martin wedged the clay, folding it against his table and kneading it with his hands, and felt the moist, pliable material move and form as he worked. He glanced around his pottery shed as the clay took shape. Tools lay scattered on a bench, glazes were stacked semi-neatly on a shelf, and biscuit-fired pieces from yesterday sat on a nearby table. Today he planned to throw earthenware serving platters and bowls and, if all went well, he might have time to coil some matching mugs as well. He took a lump of clay and slapped it down on the center of his wheel then sat down to work, carefully centering, smoothing, and shaping it with his fingers. The process of making something with a glob of earth never stopped being surprising and magical.

Please note that, due to the nature of hand-dyed yarn, no two skeins of yarn will be exactly alike. I recommend alternating skeins every few rows for projects using multiple skeins of the same colorway. If you order multiple skeins of the same colorway, I will do my best to select skeins that are the closest match.

I dye each skein with professional acid dyes and leave the yarn in the dye bath until the dye has exhausted before rinsing and soaking in wool wash. Minor color bleeding may occur on the first wash, especially with extremely dark colors.

Although I do my best to accurately represent each colorway in product photos, please note that the colors may vary depending on monitor and/or device settings.
