Seaside Serenade

I rest here, bleached smooth by salt and sunlight, watching the water slowly breathe in, and out.

My surface remembers a thousand tides, grain stripped and laid bare by currents that once carried me past lighthouses, against breakwaters, into the harbour and onto old sands.

Around me, the shoreline collects little jewels that glitter in the lull of low tide—shards of azure sea glass, edges dulled and worn milk-pale. Shallow pools reflecting feathered clouds. Emptied mussel shells dotting the shore, inner nacre painted a shimmering cerulean by dusk. A half-buried hook, long rusted and surrendered to blue verdigris and salt.

No footsteps mark this stretch anymore. Naught but timeless treasures and the scraps of myself, rearranged by seaside breeze and vast waters reaching toward a sliver of the moon. The tide swells, a quiet crescendo that tugs softly, insistently. Pulled loose I, too, rise and fall in rhythm with the ocean, the world beyond this horizon.

Nothing stays, yet nothing truly leaves. There is only the slow turning, the gentle erosion, the endless returning.

Please note that, due to the nature of hand-dyed yarn, no two skeins of yarn will be exactly alike. I recommend alternating skeins every few rows for projects using multiple skeins of the same colorway. If you order multiple skeins of the same colorway, I will do my best to select skeins that are the closest match.

I dye each skein with professional acid dyes and leave the yarn in the dye bath until the dye has exhausted before rinsing and soaking in wool wash. Minor color bleeding may occur on the first wash, especially with extremely dark colors.

Although I do my best to accurately represent each colorway in product photos, please note that the colors may vary depending on monitor and/or device settings.
