Creamsicle

You can’t eat ice cream. I just learned this! Too much sugar. Not until you’re two years old. And you’re not even eating solid foods yet. I watch you snuggle into your grandma’s shoulder, arms up as if reaching for the breeze. I touch my fingertip to your nubby thumb, and your hand curls like a tiny pink anemone. Florida is so, so hot. It flushes your chubby cheeks. You have your mom’s nose and rosebud lips. You have your uncle’s beady blue eyes. I wonder what they can make of the world: the soaring palm trees, your mom’s diva sunglasses, the ice cream shop with its red picnic tables and a chair in the shape of a kneeling cow. The front door opens and a puff of cold air leaks out and onto our shoulders. It’s as precious as dessert. I take another spoonful. I resist the urge to tip a tiny drip of orange cream into your open, gummy smile. I can’t wait to bring you back here. I want to lift you up and show you the whole case. Any flavor you want.

Please note that, due to the nature of hand-dyed yarn, no two skeins of yarn will be exactly alike. I recommend alternating skeins every few rows for projects using multiple skeins of the same colorway. If you order multiple skeins of the same colorway, I will do my best to select skeins that are the closest match.

I dye each skein with professional acid dyes and leave the yarn in the dye bath until the dye has exhausted before rinsing and soaking in wool wash. Minor color bleeding may occur on the first wash, especially with extremely dark colors.

Although I do my best to accurately represent each colorway in product photos, please note that the colors may vary depending on monitor and/or device settings.
