Autumn Woods

You woke to the smell of sesame and red bean, shuffling into the kitchen to see mom already busy folding songpyeon, and your little brother... doing his best. Mornings were chilly now, so you went against traditional sensibilities and heated your cup of cinnamon punch, hunching over it while mom chattered about needing help to pick up last-minute groceries, even though the shelves would be barren this close to Chuseok.

You nodded absentmindedly while gnawing through chestnuts mom must have peeled last night. The living room was already set up with low wooden tables, some with small baskets filled with tangerines, persimmons. Others with golden pears big enough to cup in both hands. Mom's hanbok dangled from her bedroom door in its plastic garment bag: a deep burgundy silk dress; red-ribboned, forest-green jeogori; embroidery that shimmered like autumn foliage.

Later, shopping cart laden with bagged vegetables and rattling in your hands, you looked out past the parking lot. The woods had a fireplace glow beneath the autumn sky and a stubborn streak of brown and green, where old pines stood tall.

The full moon hung, pale in the daylit distance, waiting.

Please note that, due to the nature of hand-dyed yarn, no two skeins of yarn will be exactly alike. I recommend alternating skeins every few rows for projects using multiple skeins of the same colorway. If you order multiple skeins of the same colorway, I will do my best to select skeins that are the closest match.

I dye each skein with professional acid dyes and leave the yarn in the dye bath until the dye has exhausted before rinsing and soaking in wool wash. Minor color bleeding may occur on the first wash, especially with extremely dark colors.

Although I do my best to accurately represent each colorway in product photos, please note that the colors may vary depending on monitor and/or device settings.
