Aquamarine

You have so much sea glass. Years and years worth, sitting in buckets, plastic bags, and jars scattered hither and thither around the house. It’s sad that these precious fragments of colored glass should suffer such an ignominious fate. You’d like to do something special with it all. Nothing too arts and craftsy–you don’t want to glue pieces of sea glass to cardstock. But something to actually show it all off would be nice. The clear glass lamp on your nightstand would be a perfect vessel. As you gather your collection, you debate whether or not to pour all the glass in willy-nilly or create layers of color. There’s some charm to the idea of an assorted mix, but then the flecks of cobalt, turquoise, and aquamarine could get lost in the sea of white, brown, and green. Better separate out the special pieces, then. You sit down and begin to sort through it all, carefully inspecting and rediscovering each piece. Some are the size of a pinhead, others of a fifty cent coin. Some with more rounded edges than others, every one a different oblong shape. Each with its own tidal journey that made its way to you.

Please note that, due to the nature of hand-dyed yarn, no two skeins of yarn will be exactly alike. I recommend alternating skeins every few rows for projects using multiple skeins of the same colorway. If you order multiple skeins of the same colorway, I will do my best to select skeins that are the closest match.

I dye each skein with professional acid dyes and leave the yarn in the dye bath until the dye has exhausted before rinsing and soaking in wool wash. Minor color bleeding may occur on the first wash, especially with extremely dark colors.

Although I do my best to accurately represent each colorway in product photos, please note that the colors may vary depending on monitor and/or device settings.
